Edades de los Protagonistas y otras Curiosidades

he chart above shows the age of Thorin and Company, including Bilbo and Gandalf, at the time the quest to reclaim Erebor takes place. In Peter Jackson’s adaption of the Hobbit they have changed the age of the characters quite a bit, most notably by having Thorin appear to be younger than Balin and Ori being the youngest of the Dwarves. Thorin, born in T.A. 2746, was 195 years old at the time and the oldest of the Dwarves in the Company. In the movies his age has been changed and he is portrayed as a fairly young looking Dwarf. The fact that he is present at the Sacking of Erebor means he must be at least 171 years old (+ his age at the time of the sacking) in the movies.
Balin, born in T.A. 2763, was 178 years old and the eldest of the Dwarves after Thorin. In the movies he is portrayed as an old Dwarf, very likely older than Thorin. He must also be slightly older than in the book where he is 7 years old at the time of the Sacking of Erebor.
Dwalin, born in T.A. 2772, was 169 years old at the time.
Óin, born in T.A. 2774, was 167 years old at the time.
Glóin, born in T.A. 2783, was 158 years old at the time.
Fíli, born in T.A. 2859, was 82 years old at the time.
Kíli, born in T.A. 2864, was 77 years old at the time.
The age of Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Dori, Nori and Ori has been left unknown. However, we know that Balin was the eldest of the Dwarves after Thorin and that Fíli and Kíli were the youngest “by some fifty years”. This would put their age between 132 and 178 years at the time of the quest.
Bilbo Baggins, born on 22 September T.A. 2890, was 50 years when they set out on the quest but turned 51 before they reached the Lonely Mountain.
Gandalf is just really, really old and has been around since the beginning of the world.

Algunos Comentarios sobre la Teoria
Very interesting theory!

It makes sense for the rest of the plot too. Once Gandalf returns to Middle-Earth the fellowship is already broken and Frodo and Sam gone off alone.

Old plan is no longer viable, there’s no point flying into Mordor blindly, and Frodo and Sam are impossible to locate without drawing too much attention. So, new plan: create diversion to keep the eye of Sauron occupied.
With Aragorn and the peoples of Rohan and Gondor they fight Mordor with all they have, eventually even marching on the Black Gates themselves.

The eagles, of course somehow informed of what’s been going on, show up to help with the final battle. If they couldn’t carry the Ringbearer to Mordor than at least they can help with the Nazgûl-slaying.

And once Frodo Gollum destroys the ring the eagles fly to Mount Doom and luckily manages to spot the hobbits among the smoke and lava and carries them off to safety.
The day is saved and the eagles go back to their mountains, the original plan is never mentioned or spoken off.

Evangeline Lilly Signed Up For THE HOBBIT Movies On One Condition: No Love Triangle!

It seems Evangeline Lilly didn't want to recall her Jack/Sawyer days on Lost when signing on to The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug and the final flick in the trilogy, There And Back Again. The actress reveals to Yahoo! in the video below that the one and only stipulation she had when agreeing to be a part of the movies was "no love triangle". Of course anyone who's seen the current movie will know that didn't exactly stick - Lilly's character Tauriel is quite taken with Kili (Aidan Turner) while also drawing some very interested glances from Legolas (Orlando Bloom). Apparently when the decision was made to expand the 2 movies into a trilogy, those extra scenes were added.
“We came back for reshoots in 2012 … and they were like, 'Uh, the studio would really like to see…' And I was like, 'Here we go. Here we go' And sure enough I'm in another love triangle.”

Lilly can take solace in the fact that her scenes with Turner, at least, work very well in The Desolation Of Smaug..we'll have to see how things play out in the final movie (though anyone who's read the book will have a fair idea what shape this little triangle will ultimately take!)
